Do Your Job or Go Home, What Brown Can't Do For You

NFL athletes are getting paid millions to play a sport and yet they can't seem to stay out of trouble. Cedric Benson is the first name that comes to mind. The Chicago running back has been arrested two times in the past month. Are you kidding me? Has he been hanging out with Pacman Jones or what? The first time he was caught driving a boat drunk and was with his family, but most people let it slide because he was supposedly getting harassed by the cops. All that forgiveness was gone when he got a DWI. Is it that hard to stay out of trouble? We hear so much about players getting arrest, involved in shootings, etc. We never hear of players like Braylon Edwards, Payton or Eli Manning or LT who don't get in trouble and who also give children a good person to look up to. Another thing that drives me nuts is when players don't show up to OTA's, mini camps or even practices. Travis Henry was just kicked off the Broncos a few days ago for not being "committed." Reality check Travis, this is your JOB, you get paid for this. Granted you are an above average running back in the NFL, but that doesn't mean you just show up when you feel like it.

Belmont, the last leg of the triple crown, was today. Everyone in America including myself was rooting for Big Brown to complete the triple crown. Most people including Big Brown's trainer made it sound like it had already won. Sure Big Brown had a bad hoof, but he looked like he simply didn't want to run today. I'm not a big horse racing fanatic, but I will have to admit I was left disappointed. It would have been nice to see this happen since it hasn't happened in over thirty years. Yet another phenomenal horse falls one race short. Thanks for the run Big Brown, but it looks like we will have to wait for the next horse to separate itself from the pack and make its own run at the triple crown.
